"When can you come get me"

   Those dreaded words...

"When can you come get me."

When I left Red Bull in Georgia at the Approach Trail to the Appalachian Trail, he insisted we not come get him, even if he calls and asks us to.

"Mom, DO NOT come get me if I call you, do not let me quit."

I warned him this would be a very difficult thing for a mother to do... he insisted that I needed to follow these instructions.
Now here we are, 1 1/2 weeks and almost 120 miles of hiking the AT and approach trail...

What do we do?  Encourage, problem solve, remind of the instructions given...

It is heart wrenching, and we feel we will be choosing wrong either way...
If we pick him up, he will be upset with us later for letting him quit.
If we do not pick him up, he believes we do not care about him... and are leaving him alone in the woods (or Microtel).
